Cal-Maine Foods will acquire substantially all of Fassio Egg Farm’s commercial shell egg production and processing assets.
The Ridgeland, Miss.-based producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs said the acquisition included facilities with capacity for 1.2 million laying hens. The deal is expected to close in the next few weeks.
Chief Executive Sherman Miller said the acquisition would add to Cal-Maine’s presence in Utah and the western U.S.
