U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.11%

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the rose 0.11%, while the index climbed 0.38%, and the index added 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the were Apple Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 1.92% or 3.53 points to trade at 187.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Salesforce Inc (NYSE:) added 1.48% or 3.13 points to end at 215.09 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:) was up 0.99% or 3.25 points to 330.54 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were 3M Company (NYSE:), which fell 1.07% or 1.13 points to trade at 104.44 at the close. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 0.68% or 1.76 points to end at 257.88 and Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 0.51% or 0.96 points to 188.56.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 6.42% to 201.65, Allstate Corp (NYSE:) which was up 3.42% to settle at 109.28 and Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 3.15% to close at 46.20.

The worst performers were HP Inc (NYSE:) which was down 6.65% to 29.29 in late trade, Brown Forman (NYSE:) which lost 3.98% to settle at 66.28 and Evergy Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 2.87% to 55.44 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were iCoreConnect Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 118.89% to 12.28, AgileThought Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 83.03% to settle at 0.28 and NanoVibronix Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 65.31% to close at 2.43.

The worst performers were OUTLOOK THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:) which was down 80.96% to 0.27 in late trade, TD Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.72% to settle at 0.21 and FibroGen Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 24.23% to 0.97 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1743 to 1152 and 95 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1860 rose and 1618 declined, while 127 ended unchanged.

Shares in iCoreConnect Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; rising 118.89% or 6.67 to 12.28. Shares in OUTLOOK THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 80.96% or 1.14 to 0.27. Shares in TD Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 28.72% or 0.09 to 0.21. Shares in FibroGen Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 24.23% or 0.31 to 0.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 6.30 to $1,971.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.67% or 0.54 to hit $81.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.38 to trade at $85.29 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.09, while USD/JPY rose 0.25% to 146.24.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 103.10.
